This artwork by Zeinab Abd El Hamid achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2018. In the Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Chantier Occupé sold for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,830.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zeinab Abd El Hamid; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Quartier Populaire sold at auction in March 2018 with the realized price of USD 58,750.00 (€ 47,686.69).
