The work Two Corsican figure studies: Mendiant Corse and L'Habitant de la Colonie Grecque en Corse by Zacharie-Felix Doumet was worth GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,378.08) to a buyer in December 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Zacharie-Felix Doumet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fourteen studies of Corsican peasants, and two views of Bastia, Corsica in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 11,750.00 (€ 18,717.64).
