Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The roofs of a villa overlooking orchards and vineyards, hills in the distance; and Figures in a kitchen garden, vineyards and hills beyond by Zacharie-Felix Doumet was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,500.00 (€ 11,786.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Zacharie-Felix Doumet have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2000 the work Fourteen studies of Corsican peasants, and two views of Bastia, Corsica was auctioned for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 18,717.64).
