A top price for Yu Dafu
When the work Calligraphy by Yu Dafu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 36 times as high at HKD 2,190,000.00 (€ 217,178.93). This high result makes Calligraphy the most expensive artwork by Yu Dafu that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Yu Dafu
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy von Yu Dafu im Mai 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 60.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 2.190.000,00 (€ 217.178,93) mehr als 36-mal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Calligraphy zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Yu Dafu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
