Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Egyptian calligraphy by Youseff Sida was auctioned at Sothebys in Dubai in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,657.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Youseff Sida - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Egyptianuntitled, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 45,000.00 (€ 50,746.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Egyptian calligraphy von Youseff Sida kam im November 2017 bei Sothebys in Dubai zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.657,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Youseff Sida mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Egyptianuntitled beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 45.000,00 (€ 50.746,12) versteigert wurde.
