This artwork by Yokoi Kinkoku achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2012. In the The Japanese Aesthetic auction, the work A pair of hanging scrolls, landscapes, ink and light colour on paper, each signed Kinkoku and sealed Kinkoku sold for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,771.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yokoi Kinkoku; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Spring and winter landscape sold at auction in November 2003 with the realized price of GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,460.14).
