This artwork by Ynez Johnston achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in September this year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California Part II Online auction, the work Green Voyage, 1963 sold for USD 7,680.00 (€ 7,256.24) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Ynez Johnston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sun Painting, 1968 in September last year with an auction result of USD 38,175.00 (€ 39,021.77).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ynez Johnston erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California Part II Online wurde die Arbeit Green Voyage, 1963 für USD 7.680,00 (€ 7.256,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ynez Johnston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sun Painting, 1968 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 38.175,00 (€ 39.021,77).
