Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Airy Mountain X by Yau Wing Fung was sold in the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,282.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yau Wing Fung - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Floating Mountain VII, which sold at auction in September 2020 for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,667.35).

Die Arbeit The Airy Mountain X von Yau Wing Fung wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.282,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Yau Wing Fung mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Floating Mountain VII beobachtet, die im September 2020 für USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.667,35) versteigert wurde.
