In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Tired Clown by Yasuo Kuniyoshi. The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 32,467.53) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yasuo Kuniyoshi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boy With Cow in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 271,500.00 (€ 256,664.78).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tired Clown von Yasuo Kuniyoshi zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 32.467,53) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yasuo Kuniyoshi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boy With Cow im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 271.500,00 (€ 256.664,78).
