Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1824 by Yashima Gakutei was worth USD 10,837.50 (€ 9,361.23) to a buyer in September 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono at Bonhams in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Yashima Gakutei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Giant black carp in waterweeds in September last year with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 83,716.65).

Die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1824 von Yashima Gakutei war einem Käufer im September 2021 USD 10.837,50 (€ 9.361,23) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yashima Gakutei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Giant black carp in waterweeds im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 83.716,65).
