Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy In Regular Script by Yao Mengqi was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. The price achieved of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,355.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yao Mengqi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eleven-Character Couplet In Clerical Script, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 153,400.00 (€ 16,883.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script von Yao Mengqi wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.355,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Yao Mengqi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eleven-Character Couplet In Clerical Script beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 153.400,00 (€ 16.883,48) versteigert wurde.
