In September 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia, which included the work The Sleeping Dorothy Bodhisattva by Yang Mao-Lin. The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,754.42) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yang Mao-Lin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Behaviour of Game - Fighting Chapter, which sold at auction in May 2010 for HKD 524,000.00 (€ 54,437.71).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Sleeping Dorothy Bodhisattva von Yang Mao-Lin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.754,42) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yang Mao-Lin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Behaviour of Game - Fighting Chapter beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für HKD 524.000,00 (€ 54.437,71) versteigert wurde.
