Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hardware Store Collage - Schöfer Cleaning Paper, Toilet Paper And Cash Register #1 by Haegue Yang was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The price achieved of HKD 52,920.00 (€ 5,861.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 45,000.00 – 65,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Haegue Yang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Central Composition in Explosion – Trustworthy ‘For Sophie Taeuber’ #184 in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 89,020.30).
