In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections, which included the work Trap by Chihung Yang. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 562,500.00 (€ 63,488.03), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chihung Yang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tinder, which sold at auction in April 2019 for HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 135,172.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trap von Chihung Yang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 562.500,00 (€ 63.488,03) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Chihung Yang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tinder beobachtet, die im April 2019 für HKD 1.187.500,00 (€ 135.172,08) versteigert wurde.
