This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Calligraphy the most expensive artwork by Yan Xishan that we have observed at auctions so far.
