Upper estimate price exceeded by 35 %.
In October 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Lotus in the Pond by Yan Bolong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 94,500.00 (€ 10,511.82), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Yan Bolong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twelve Zodiac Signs in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 688,125.00 (€ 78,651.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lotus in the Pond von Yan Bolong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 94.500,00 (€ 10.511,82) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yan Bolong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Twelve Zodiac Signs im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 688.125,00 (€ 78.651,67).
