Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Yamamoto Shoun was sold in the Japanese Art and Design auction at Christies in London in November 2008. The price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,231.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yamamoto Shoun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Twenty-four woodblock prints depicting women, which sold at auction in May 2021 for GBP 9,450.00 (€ 10,995.29).
