In October 2013 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part I, which included the work Blue Dome I (From The Endless Prayers Series) by Y. Z. Kami. The »bidding war« ended at USD 100,000.00 (€ 73,561.87), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Y. Z. Kami - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Maryam), which sold at auction in November last year for USD 153,720.00 (€ 148,910.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue Dome I (From The Endless Prayers Series) von Y. Z. Kami zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 73.561,87) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Y. Z. Kami mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Maryam) beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 153.720,00 (€ 148.910,20) versteigert wurde.
