Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Xu Cao could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Maiden With Sycamore And Banana Trees changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,073.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Cao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Riding In Spring in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 943,000.00 (€ 108,983.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xu Cao konnte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wechselte die Arbeit Maiden With Sycamore And Banana Trees für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.073,05) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Cao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Riding In Spring im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 943.000,00 (€ 108.983,16).
