Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia, which included the work Moist Emotion by Xiong Lijun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,877.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xiong Lijun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Don'T Educate Me, which sold at auction in September 2007 for USD 37,000.00 (€ 26,021.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Moist Emotion von Xiong Lijun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.877,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Xiong Lijun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Don'T Educate Me beobachtet, die im September 2007 für USD 37.000,00 (€ 26.021,52) versteigert wurde.
