The work Forest in the Distance by Xie Shichen was worth HKD 800,000.00 (€ 76,533.12) to a buyer in November 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xie Shichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scholarly Gathering till Twilight in May last year with an auction result of HKD 10,050,000.00 (€ 1,193,150.68).

Die Arbeit Forest in the Distance von Xie Shichen war einem Käufer im November 2011 HKD 800.000,00 (€ 76.533,12) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xie Shichen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scholarly Gathering till Twilight im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 10.050.000,00 (€ 1.193.150,68).
