Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Girl with Cat by Xia Yu was worth HKD 756,000.00 (€ 90,595.63) to a buyer in December last year. This price was achieved in the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xia Yu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot E-bike, Sunset, Dog sold at auction in September this year with the realized price of CNY 882,000.00 (€ 114,166.67).

Die Arbeit Girl with Cat von Xia Yu war einem Käufer im Dezember letzten Jahres HKD 756.000,00 (€ 90.595,63) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Xia Yu; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit E-bike, Sunset, Dog im September diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von CNY 882.000,00 (€ 114.166,67).
