Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Autumn Breeze by Xia Yu was worth HKD 279,400.00 (€ 33,788.15) to a buyer in October this year. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale at Phillips in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xia Yu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work E-bike, Sunset, Dog, which sold at auction in September this year for CNY 882,000.00 (€ 114,166.67).

Die Arbeit Autumn Breeze von Xia Yu war einem Käufer im Oktober diesen Jahres HKD 279.400,00 (€ 33.788,15) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Xia Yu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit E-bike, Sunset, Dog beobachtet, die im September diesen Jahres für CNY 882.000,00 (€ 114.166,67) versteigert wurde.
