Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,470.40). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wynford Dewhurst - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blossom, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 9,987.50 (€ 15,831.42).

Die Arbeit Early Morning, Provence von Wynford Dewhurst wurde im März 2006 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.470,40) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Wynford Dewhurst mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blossom beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 9.987,50 (€ 15.831,42) versteigert wurde.
