Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Running Script Calligraphic Couplet by Wu Xizai. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,097.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Xizai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Seal Script in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,776,000.00 (€ 388,750.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Running Script Calligraphic Couplet von Wu Xizai zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.097,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Xizai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.776.000,00 (€ 388.750,20).
