Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy In Clerical Script by Wu Xizai was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 25,000.00 – 45,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 29,500.00 (€ 3,371.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Xizai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Seal Script in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,776,000.00 (€ 388,750.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Clerical Script von Wu Xizai wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 25.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 29.500,00 (€ 3.371,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Xizai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.776.000,00 (€ 388.750,20).
