This artwork by Wu Guxiang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Scenery of Suzhou sold for HKD 1,386,000.00 (€ 164,547.95) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wu Guxiang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scenery Of Jiangsu, which sold at auction in April 2017 for HKD 3,700,000.00 (€ 436,732.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wu Guxiang erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Scenery of Suzhou für HKD 1.386.000,00 (€ 164.547,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wu Guxiang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scenery Of Jiangsu beobachtet, die im April 2017 für HKD 3.700.000,00 (€ 436.732,45) versteigert wurde.
