This artwork by Wu Guxiang achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in March 2019. In the Important Collections of Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from Asia auction, the work Living In Deep Mountains sold for HKD 70,800.00 (€ 8,033.42) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guxiang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scenery Of Jiangsu in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 3,700,000.00 (€ 436,732.45).
