This artwork by Wu Gonghu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Tiger sold for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,037.44) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wu Gonghu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roaring Tiger, which sold at auction in November 2018 for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,108.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wu Gonghu erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Tiger für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.037,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wu Gonghu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Roaring Tiger beobachtet, die im November 2018 für HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.108,45) versteigert wurde.
