A top price for Wu Gonghu
When the work Roaring Tiger by Wu Gonghu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,108.45). This high result makes Roaring Tiger the most expensive artwork by Wu Gonghu that we have observed at auctions so far.
