Plum and Rock, 1921
Hanging scroll, ink on paper, inscribed by the artist and signed Wu Changshuo at the age of seventy-eight, followed by two seals of the artist reading Wu Changshuo and Meiyi Yannian, with a collector's seal reading Zhao Shuru.

Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Plum and Rock, 1921 by Wu Changshi for USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,678.00). This price was achieved in the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Wu Changshi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Immortal Peaches in March last year with an auction result of USD 27,812.50 (€ 25,072.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Plum and Rock, 1921 von Wu Changshi für USD 4.080,00 (€ 3.678,00) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wu Changshi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Immortal Peaches im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.812,50 (€ 25.072,12).
