Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Gone Away , The Rufford Hounds Breaking Cover in Sherwood Forest by Wright Barker. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,882.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wright Barker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Couples Resting In A Kennel in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 127,000.00 (€ 149,870.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gone Away , The Rufford Hounds Breaking Cover in Sherwood Forest von Wright Barker zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.882,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wright Barker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two Couples Resting In A Kennel im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 127.000,00 (€ 149.870,19).
