In June 2001 Christies in New York held the auction Sporting Art, which included the work Two Couples Resting In A Kennel by Wright Barker. The price achieved of USD 127,000.00 (€ 149,870.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Two Couples Resting In A Kennel is the most expensive artwork by Wright Barker that we have observed at auctions so far.
