Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work The Horse Fair by Wouterus Verschuur for USD 60,000.00 (€ 54,088.16). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wouterus Verschuur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A well-deserved rest, which sold at auction in October 2000 for NLG 327,656.00 (€ 157,264.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Horse Fair von Wouterus Verschuur für USD 60.000,00 (€ 54.088,16) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wouterus Verschuur mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A well-deserved rest beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für NLG 327.656,00 (€ 157.264,07) versteigert wurde.
