Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Christies in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work A driver with his family fording a stream by Wouterus Verschuur. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,774.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wouterus Verschuur achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A well-deserved rest in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 327,656.00 (€ 157,264.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A driver with his family fording a stream von Wouterus Verschuur zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.774,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wouterus Verschuur erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A well-deserved rest im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 327.656,00 (€ 157.264,07).
