In October 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Horses in a Stableyard by Wouterus Verschuur. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,812.50 (€ 26,441.75), 59% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wouterus Verschuur have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A well-deserved rest in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 327,656.00 (€ 157,264.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Horses in a Stableyard von Wouterus Verschuur zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.812,50 (€ 26.441,75) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wouterus Verschuur auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A well-deserved rest im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 327.656,00 (€ 157.264,07).
