In May 2018 Il Ponte held the auction Dipinti e sculture XIX e XX Secolo, which included the work La sosta by Wouterus Verschuur. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,000.00 74% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wouterus Verschuur achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A well-deserved rest in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 327,656.00 (€ 157,264.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 74 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2018 führte Il Ponte die Auktion Dipinti e sculture XIX e XX Secolo durch, in der auch die Arbeit La sosta von Wouterus Verschuur zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.000,00 und damit 74% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wouterus Verschuur erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A well-deserved rest im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 327.656,00 (€ 157.264,07).
