Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work I Hate Mornings A by Woo Kuk Won was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in November last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 150,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 478,800.00 (€ 59,415.17). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Woo Kuk Won - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Que Sera Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be), which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 224,383.56).
