This artwork by Wolfgang Tillmans achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in June 2017. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Freischwimmer #84 sold for GBP 605,000.00 (€ 688,982.12) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00. This high result makes Freischwimmer #84 the most expensive artwork by Wolfgang Tillmans that we have observed at auctions so far.
