It achieved a price of EUR 26,460.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wolfgang Paalen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Avertissement I (Peinture)“. in July 2020 with an auction result of EUR 387,500.00.

Die Arbeit Paysage totémique. Fontaine d'os von Wolfgang Paalen kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 26.460,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wolfgang Paalen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit „Avertissement I (Peinture)“. im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 387.500,00.
