Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled, 1954 by Wolfgang Paalen was sold in the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,420.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wolfgang Paalen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Avertissement I (Peinture)“. in July 2020 with an auction result of EUR 387,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled, 1954 von Wolfgang Paalen wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.420,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wolfgang Paalen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit „Avertissement I (Peinture)“. im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 387.500,00.
