Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Leading the Troops by Wojciech Kossak was sold in the 19th Century European Art and Orientalist Art auction at Christies in New York in October 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,343.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wojciech Kossak - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Polish Horseman, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 22,100.00 (€ 28,112.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Leading the Troops von Wojciech Kossak wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art and Orientalist Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.343,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Wojciech Kossak mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Polish Horseman beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 22.100,00 (€ 28.112,17) versteigert wurde.
