The work The Contemplation Of Primeval Heaven by Wire Tuazon was worth HKD 187,500.00 (€ 15,452.37) to a buyer in April 2008. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wire Tuazon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Invisible forest sold at auction in May 2010 with the realized price of HKD 162,500.00 (€ 16,881.92).
