Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Winfred Gaul was sold in the The Curator’s Eye: The Collection of Professor Dr Karin von Maur auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2021. The price achieved of EUR 625.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winfred Gaul achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Three little roses I“. in December 2016 with an auction result of EUR 23,750.00.
