Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale, which included the work Holy by Wimo Ambala Bayang. The price achieved of HKD 8,750.00 (€ 958.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wimo Ambala Bayang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bu Kabul Ingin Keluarganya Selalu Berada Di Jalan Yang Diberkati Tuhan (Mrs Kabul Wishes Her Family Will Always Be In God'S Path - High Hope Series), which sold at auction in October 2011 for HKD 27,500.00 (€ 2,539.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Holy von Wimo Ambala Bayang zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 8.750,00 (€ 958,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Wimo Ambala Bayang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bu Kabul Ingin Keluarganya Selalu Berada Di Jalan Yang Diberkati Tuhan (Mrs Kabul Wishes Her Family Will Always Be In God'S Path - High Hope Series) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2011 für HKD 27.500,00 (€ 2.539,61) versteigert wurde.
