Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work High Hopes Series: Brigitta Wishes To Remain Beautiful In Old Age; Julia Wishes To Be A Successful Person; Sumi Wishes Her Family Will Always Stay Within God's Path by Wimo Ambala Bayang for HKD 18,750.00 (€ 2,167.15). This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Wimo Ambala Bayang have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2011 by the work Bu Kabul Ingin Keluarganya Selalu Berada Di Jalan Yang Diberkati Tuhan (Mrs Kabul Wishes Her Family Will Always Be In God'S Path - High Hope Series) at HKD 27,500.00 (€ 2,539.61).
