A top price for Wimmitji Tjapangarti - as previously expected
In November 2020 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Untitled, 1991 by Wimmitji Tjapangarti. It changed hands for a price of AUD 24,600.00 (€ 20,589.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Untitled, 1991 is the most expensive artwork by Wimmitji Tjapangarti that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1991 von Wimmitji Tjapangarti zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 24.600,00 (€ 20.589,22) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Untitled, 1991 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Wimmitji Tjapangarti, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
