Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dancing girls under the apple tree by Willy Pogany was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,741.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willy Pogany - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two Costume Designs for Le Coq d’Or; One for Hamlet; One for Ophelia, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,348.62).

Die Arbeit Dancing girls under the apple tree von Willy Pogany kam im Dezember 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.741,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Willy Pogany mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Two Costume Designs for Le Coq d’Or; One for Hamlet; One for Ophelia beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.348,62) versteigert wurde.
