Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Oak by William Wendt was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 48,255.00 (€ 47,943.37) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Wendt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Silence Of Night in June 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 259,245.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Oak von William Wendt kam im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 48.255,00 (€ 47.943,37) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Wendt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Silence Of Night im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 286.000,00 (€ 259.245,83).
