Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work El Morro Bay by William Wendt. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 35,655.00 (€ 33,837.90). Admittedly, works by William Wendt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Silence Of Night in June 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 259,245.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit El Morro Bay von William Wendt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 35.655,00 (€ 33.837,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Wendt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Silence Of Night im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 286.000,00 (€ 259.245,83).
